The Tom Green County 4-H Shotgun Shooting Sports Club is open to all youth ages 8 and in the third grade or 9 years of age by August 31, and have not reached their 19th birthday on or before August 31 of the current year. Club members are involved in many events and activities throughout the year; including, county, regional, state and national competitions, community service, and much more. American and International Skeet, American and International Trap, 5-Stand, and Sporting Clays are part of the program. Youth learn marksmanship, the safe and responsible use of firearms, teamwork and sportsmanship. With the support of caring adult leaders and certified coaches, members are provided with the opportunity to develop leadership roles, life skills, conservation ethics and self worth. The focus of all 4-H programs is development of youth as individuals and responsible and productive citizens. "Club Meetings" Meetings are held on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 6:00 pm at the San Angelo Claybird Association. 4-H shooting competitions begin in the spring and end with the state shoot in July. We will begin in February to offer a weekly practice on Tuesday's in order to prepare for spring competitions. (See Club News for updated information).
