Sept. 8, 2009 Meeting Minutes: The monthly meeting took plae on Sept. 8, 2009 at the San Angelo Claybird Association Club house at 6:30 p.m. with Bradley Ball presiding. The meeting was brought to order and the 4-H motto and pledge were recited. New business included the election of officers, pennies for the pound (district 7), 4-H day on Oct. 10, finance meeting for drawing and new rules for club officers and the state shoot. There was discussion over officer positions being held by high school members and that officers must not miss more than three monthly meetings (held on the 2nd Tuesday of the month) or they will be replaced. There was a motion to accept these regulations and it was seconded. By unanimous decision the motion passed. There was also discussion over club officers attending a planning meeting the first Tuesday of the month to prepare for monthly meetings. All officers were nominated and then elected by the membership by ballot. The finance committee and all other members will meet at Rosa's on Sept. 30th at 6:00 p.m. to draw for the winners of the raffle ticket fundraiser. Everyone should participated in the National 4-H Week Campaign on Oct. 10 to volunteer for an act of kindness to someone in need. A motion was made and seconded for the club to pay for one state shoot entry fee for each member. The motion passed unanimously. Certificates were passed out to outgoing officers. The meeting was adjourned and refreshments were served. The next meeting will be held on Oct. 13, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. at the Claybird Association club house.

Oct. 13, 2009 Meeting Minutes: The monthly meeting took place on October 13, 2009 at the San Angelo Claybird Association Club house at 6:15 with Ryan Mapel presiding. The meeting was brought to order and the 4-H motto and pledge were recited. There were 17 members present, 9 leaders and 4 new members or guests. The minutes were read by James Glass and a treasurer report was given by Carson Womack. There is $4,041.13 in the membership account and $11,175.80 in the general account. New business included talking about the West Texas Rehab shoot on November 14 (they are looking for volunteers), Scott Hurt handed out scholarship information to be filled out, Jay talked about information for the coaches clinic to be held in Brownwood and the shoot date was discussed. Ryan said he would talk to Tom about the setting the date for our whiz bang to be on May 1. Everyone is to be keeping a jug to save pennies in for the county or district 7 community service projects. They changed pennies for the pound to pennies for the pool to raise money to fix the pool at the 4-H center in Brownwood. A safety briefing was given by Justin Perrine. The meeting was adjourned and refreshments provided by the Smith, Womack and Glass families were served. The next meeting is to be held on November 10, 2010 at the Claybird association club house.

The monthly meeting took place at the San Angelo Claybird Association Clubhouse at 6:15 with Clint Holik, 1st Vice President, presiding. The meeting was brought to order and the pledge and 4-H motto recited. First order of business was the shell order. Anyone ordering shells must do so by the 17th of Feb or talk to Scott Hurt. Two club members, James Glass and Carson Womack participated and won ribbons showing their Dorper sheep at the San Antonio Stock Show. Cody Hurt offered the safety rules for shooting. Mr. Jack Cannon representing the National Rifleman Association was present to discuss the Friends of the NRA banquet and grant money that will be awarded to our club. NRA is also donating a Turkey Patterning Instant Range Kit and eye and ear protection. Luke Thompson, John DelReal, Dust Lenz, Samuel King and Miles Krabill were welcomed as new member to the club. There will be a Bake Sale to be held as a fundraiser on Good Friday, April 2. Scott Hurt handed out a list of shoot dates for this season. The next monthly meeting is to be held on March 9, 2010. At that time the club will decorate sakcs for Meals for the Elderly as a community service project. Everyone is asked to bring decorative magazine pictures to decorate the sacks.
